alarm system that can sense when someone has slipped something through the window?

i locked my keys in a rental and was shocked when the locksmith was able to unlock the car without setting off the alarm. is there an alarm that can sense that the window was pried open (even a quarter of an inch)?
I guess I didn’t turn the alarm on when I got out of the car. I’m sure I didn’t. It only caught my attention, because the alarm did go off once he unlocked the door and opened it, but not when he was sticking the hook in the window. very scary.

that is fairly normal for most cars. however some high end cars and most convertibles use a microwave field sensor that will detect an intrusion without actually touching anything for example the Audi TT convertible, and some of the top audis mercedes and BMW’s, this is much more common in recent years, even the new Mazda miata has it, and they are available aftermarket.
