Do I need a 50-Watt converter or a 100-Watt converter?

I am traveling to Spain and I need a converter plug that can power a small 4″ fan (on the back it says 120V, 60 Hz, 0.2A), a digital camera battery charger, and an alarm clock at the same time. Is a 50-Watt converter enough or do I need something bigger?

The fan is 24W but it is 60 Hz. It is possible that the fan won’t like the 50 Hz power in Spain and if it does operate it may use more than 24W and waste it as heat. Chance it will burn up. Leave it home. Buy one locally in Spain..

Check the info on the digital camera. Like mine it may read 110VAC to 240VAC and it will only need an adapter plug to work. Go to www.magellans.com to select the proper adapter plug.

Your electric alarm clock is also a 60 Hz device and probably will not work on 50 Hz. You should also leave the alarm clock at home. Get yourself a battery operated alarm clock from Magellans.com.

Don’t waste your money and the weight allowance on the converter and fan. Travel smart.
