The Old Alarm Clock

Does my 4yr. old have a built in alarm clock?
He’s always up at 5:45 a.m. every morning. He then comes into our bedroom to wake us up. He has a set bed time of 9 p.m. I just wish he’d sleep in a little longer! I always end up sending him back into his room to play with his toys, but he always ends up back in our room to wake me up; because he’s thirsty or hungry or whatever. Once I’m up and make him breakfast and serve his drink. This is his reply : “oh, thanks I’m not thirsty now, no thanks I’m not hungry.” What can I do to keep him in bed longer and just simply out of our bedroom ni the morning, so that we can sleep just a little longer???
I know this sounds strange, but it worked with my daughter. I moved her bedtime earlier and she didn’t seem to get up as early. Other than that, if he knows numbers, I’ve put a digital clock in my daughter’s room and said when the first number turns to ___, you can come out.
