Vehicle CANbus Motorhome Alarms

Starting in 2003 Motorhomes many have come with a new type called CANbus wiring, short-area network controlled. This method of wiring means that the vehicles actually sends the data cable that allows the engine to communicate with different electrical parts of the vehicle. It was actually developed by Bosch in 1983 but will become a standard for all vehicles to be wired within the next few years.

So what does this mean for the humble their campers?

Almost all the campers who is the manufacturer will CANbus wiring and a remote control, vehicles operated central locking. Have also been incorporated in Thatcham Category 2 approved engine immobilizer too!

Wired Motorhomes CANbus include the Fiat Ducato from 2006, the Citroen Berlingo 2003 onwards, Ford Transits from 2006, Mercedes Vito and Sprinters from 2006 and the Peugeot Expert, Boxer also from 2006.

Although having half for campers with CANbus wiring that the choice of security system is reduced dramatically, The good news is that you are already halfway few days after a Thatcham approved immobilizer and remote controlled central locking.

Thus, when using the remote control to block or unlock the doors for motorhomes, the arms or disarms the alarm. This makes it extremely easy to use, and you never have to tell anyone how to use it. Better yet, no need for a new remote control attached to your keychain, I never get into a mess.

As with any Thatcham approved security system, The Laserline 670T is only valid for insurance purposes if fitted by a recognized installer Thatcham.
