How to design Water over flow detector to detect overflow of water from tank? please suggest simple approach.?

To detect water overflow detector using an alarm system with low cost.. Could anyone please suggest best idea and implement idea in low cost approach.

1.You can make use of electrodes.

2.Connect an alarm to the electrodes .

3. Place the electrodes just below the opening of the tank so that when the water reaches the electrodes current flows through it .

4. When the current flows through it , the alarm goes on and when the water level is below the electrodes , the alarm is off.
