Looking for a nice dog that is great with small children, doesn’t bark non-stop like this chihuahua that we are watching, but is a good alarm dog. Looking for one that is smaller, but not too small. I run a daycare and it would have to be tough enough to handle the kids.
The problem is that you have a ton of people on your property coming and going. An alert dog is going to bark everytime someone enters the property.
My initial instinct was a Sheltie, but it’s going to bark everytime the door opens or someone opens the gate to your property – like most good watch dogs.
