Adaptation of a generator of national legislation for a boat?

I'm looking at adapting a gasoline generator 3KVA home to my ship. The only marine generators cost a lot. I have tons of engine room space and make it only needs to anticipate twice a week. Save operation of main engines to charge batteries. My idea is to buy a low unit cost ignition key to fresh air duct fan electric automobile radiator and exhaust pipe through a marine exhaust fan and the side of the boat. Since cooled 4-stroke engines I think air should be sufficient to maintain the cool thing. I have a carbon monoxide alarm and if there is an exhaust leak …. Anybody see any problem fundamental to what I'm planning to do and no one has done or contemplated the same … I know that marine generators are being built, but in my case is for occasional use I can not do everything for under $ 500 vs. $ 3k and up for a marine unit. There's the incentive. All ideas, criticism, advice welcome …

Made. But we had ours in the infirmary of stern exhaust ventilation only through a montage of bronze skin side of the hull without problems. We do not use fans and kept the hatch open when the genny was in use. Noise is a problem as the sets are completely isolated marine hence the price of
