HAHA the guy that says 96C is not bad at all for a CPU. Wow that one was glorious.

Open the computer up and see if the fan is really working, and make sure the computer is completely clean inside while you are at it, otherwise you found one problem. If it is working and you recently took the heatsink off for some reason, you probably didn’t put new thermal paste on, which is vital for the heatsink to cool the CPU. If it isn’t working, take the heatsink off, replace the fan, put new thermal paste on again, then try. Make sure you are precise with your thermal paste and that you clean the surfaces everytime you reapply thermal paste.

Oh and one more thing…

A CPU usually has a thermal threshold of 75C.
96C would result in complete destruction of a CPU’s circuitry if left to run at that temp.
