Samsung Omnia Ringtone Issues?

I recently purchased an Omnia and I love it. I only have one problem, and I can’t seem to find the answer. How do you use MP3 files for text message alerts and alarms? I want to use my own MP3s for text message ringtone and my alarm. The only options the phone gives me is the built in “sounds”. Please tell me how to do this. Do I need to convert the files, and where do I put them? Thanks.

I have been having the same problem, and I found this while searching online. “u can browse the mp3 file u wan wif media album den expand menu & set the mp3 file as ringtone. I think you can also do it by copying the mp3 file into the ringtone folder & setting in the sound and notification setting” To be honest with you I haven’t been able to try this yet so I have no idea if this works. But I hope this helps
