Security tags on clothes?

I just bought a shirt from Forever 21 and it still has the tags on it. How come the alarm did not go off? Should I take them bag and ask to remove them or try myself? Does anyone know an tricks?

You should take them back to the store, because they could damage your clothes if you try to remove them yourself. (They sometimes have ink in them that will spray all over…)
