My computer is dead … PSU or Mobo?

After a storm, I found that a number of electronics in my house are dead, including an alarm clock, voice mail, caller ID, my brother's computer (ethernet card) and my team. The strange thing is that my computer was connected to a surge protector or even when it happened. Anyway, I took the side panel off. When connected to power is a green light on the motherboard. Thus I tried to replace the power supply with a new unit, and even adds a stick of RAM brand new in the second slot. The switch is still turned on (same happens to old power supply) when you press the power button, the green light on the motherboard (not if) and nothing happens. What could be wrong with the computer?

Do you have an Ethernet card or modem in your computer? Surges can easily pass through these wires and frying connected components, if you have a modem or Ethernet card in your computer, try removing them and see if the computer is restarted.
