Peak Alarm Company

I suspect my house to be burglarized, what should I do?

I just recently got a knock on my door from a man claimed to be from an alarm company. I found his visit to have been odd because it was 6PM, dark, cold, and raining outside. He said he was going around the neighborhood to offer people alarm services. And went on asking me if I had an alarm system. I didn’t quite give him a straight answer, but I think I gave just enough to imply that the answer was no. I suspect him of burglarizing my home, what should I do?

Another thing is that the holidays are approaching and people usually go on vacations, burglarizing of homes often peak during this time of year as you may know…

First ask your neighbors if they have found that activity supicious, and their accounts. If something really seems wrong, explain to the cops, with the neighbors accounts, or one even with you. Though just make sure to have your locks on, even though you should at all times.
Edit: Exactly what Joe C said, as well. Any description to the cops will help. And you can never be too careful.
