Why does my HP Pavilion dv6000 mysteriously power on and sound alarms all by itself?

I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 that will turn itself on and begin running the hard drive, DVD drive, fans and sounding a beep, beep-beep alarm sound. Everything is powered up except for the screen. Once this begins, the only way to stop it is to remove the battery. I have spent three sessions online with the HP help line and performed such fun things as a hard disk health scan (result = passed), removing the memory and putting it back in, reloading the original operating system. I am fully convinced that the people at HP’s help desk haven’t a clue as to why and their remedies are about as effective as if they had me sacrifice a chicken to the HP Gods. Their technicians are about the worse I have ever dealt with — offshore outsourcing — yeah, it really works well. So much for the rant — does anyone out there know why or how an HP Pavillion dv6000 can turn on its own power and run itself until it fully drains the batteries? And, does anyone know how to make it stop doing this?

hp -suppor is 1 big load of (bs) when you call them they try to ++++ you off on to there stupid website . and there tech spport on phone when taling to them they know ++++ all about pc and how to fix it there all talk when it comes to support to fix this problem ur ram cards are not sitting right in ur HP Pavilion dv6000 . that is why ur getting that beeping sound all the time you need to make sure ur ram cards are in right and that battery replace it its ++++ up hp support there all (BS) they have no support at all and them that work for them dont know ++++ all about pc’s if you cant fix this problem take it to a services center
