What’s worse: police sirens on the car radio or alarm clock buzzers on TV commercials?

We’ve been trained by life to react to certain stimuli. For instance, when we’re driving and we hear the sirens of emergency vehicles, we snap to attention, look around, and pull over. When we’re sleeping and hear our alarm clock go off, we’re startled and our adrenaline starts rushing.

It just seems downright bastardly of musical artists and radio stations to use sirens when a huge fraction of their listeners are driving, and alarm clock buzzers in cheap local commercials are flat-out evil.

Do you feel the same way, or am I just particularly irritable?

Sirens on the radio…I hate that shyt. It makes me go to looking in my mirrors so I can try to get over only to realize no emergency vehicle is coming…It’s just the damn radio. I also hate the cell phone commercials. When I first got my t-mobile phone I didn’t set a ringtone so it was on the default one. Every time their commercial came on, I thought my phone was ringing and I’d go grabbing for it. It happens with Nextels too with the chirping, people start looking at their phones and then get mad because it’s just the damn tv.
