There have been security systems in place from the time that was necessary to protect their property. Security systems were the things high walls and moats. Of course, the technology has given us many more options than just the walls and moats, but need to build all the technological advances, or is a simple alarm system without control enough?

Technology allows us to have a company monitor our alarm system with wired or wireless connection from a different location. This allows them to notify the homeowner as soon as a theft occurs, and even notify the police if necessary. Everything sounds good, but there's a catch. You have to pay this company a monthly fee to continue service monitoring, ie its security system at home becomes a never-ending expenses.

As owner a home, you also have the option of installing a security system that is not controlled by anyone. Instead, the only sounds strong alarm, audible alarm when the system home security detects an intruder. But is that enough?

Even a sign that states that there is a home alarm system installed, can deter some criminals would break into your home. However, it will not stop them all. A sign saying the system without control is actually a monitored alarm system may deter some. Deterrence of a large uncontrolled alarm, however, is the strong, sound the siren sounding off during a security violation. Most thieves will assume that someone was notified, or have someone nearby you will hear the alarm, and that almost always decides to flee the scene to avoid getting caught in the act.

There is a problem, however. The assumption that the system is actually a follow-up is based on the fact that most security systems. If all the world decided to go with alarms unchecked, this assumption would vanish, and would remove the best deterrent alarm system without control can offer. Moreover, unless that is truly at home to hear the alarm go, an element of deterrence is all an alarm system can be unchecked. Since most people are not home most of the day, is quite understandable if a simple deterrent is not enough to make someone feel safe.

So as a result, an owner must consider what they really want. A simple, one-time cost for a pretty powerful deterrent or a permanent staffing costs and reporting Police immediately if the deterrent is not working? Most times, a simple deterrent is sufficient, but is you willing to bet on "most of the time"? Some will be happy to save money, and some will emphasize enhanced security in the worst case scenario, despite the additional costs.
