How was it that my mom allowed me to pull the fire alarm in a fire when I was 11?

My mom and I were together and we both saw smoke coming from a building. We were safe. How was it when I asked my mom can I pull the alarm she allowed me? She could have done it because she was an adult and I’m her son. She even read the directions out loud with me and then helped me to lift my leg to kick the glass and pull the handle How was it that she quickly showed me how to kick the glass without it breaking? Was it ok she showed me to make me feel comfortable? Do you think other people watching were ok with my mom and I working as a team to get the alarm sounding? Did my mom allow me to pull it because she loves me and she trusts me?
