How do you add a new alarm sound in windows mobile 6.5?

I was told it goes in the windows root file location and that it has to be in .wav format. Someone also told me that it has to be under 200k in size. I was wondering if anyone had any luck and what were their results?

Every time I use audacity to try and convert an .mp3 to .wav it ends up being like 30mb!

Can anyone explain how exactly to convert an mp3 to a wav where it is no so big and how to put it in the right directory so that it appears on sounds when i change the alarm?

after you download and open the software, drag and drop the file you want to convert, click file, save as, change save file type to .wav. Another window will come up. here you can you can resize the file or change the attributes until you get the right size you want.. and enter.

To get the file in the right directory, connect phone to computer. click my computer, select the phone, drag and drop the .wav in a folder (exe: my ringtone). Then from your phone, access my rigtone folder (or whatever folder you put the file in), “cut” the .wav file and paste it into the windows directory. You should now find that file in the alrm sounds when u click the golden bell in the clock & alarm settings. GL
