98 Nissan Maxima will not start i can’t figure out what it is help!!!!!!!!?

I have a 98 Nissan Maxima GLE I left my lights on for a few hours and assumed when my car wouldn’t start that it was my Battery however when I jumped the car everything in the car like the lights the power locks and power windows all worked, even my alarm worked. However when I went to actually start the car it wasn’t starting at all no stalling no sound at all just a click that I heard under the hood. Also when i step on the gas the lights in my car are turning off, which I can’t figure out what this is either. It might be my auto start/alarm but I’m not sure I just don’t get whats going on and I don’t know what to do. I just bought this car from my brother a few months ago and everything was going perfect until now and I cant afford a new one right now and I don’t wanna get killed with a mechanic bill plz help me.

Try these simple things, take your battery and have it load tested at the auto parts store,won’t cost you anything. If your batteries Ok, you may have reset the brainbox by detaching the battery, which may help. Now hopefully now you either have a new battery or a charged one? If it doesn’t turn over, check the ground wire to the starter,the little one not attached to the battery, make sure it’s not loose.. Last, the starter may be in a bind, so if it’s automatic put the car inPARK and rock the heck out of it back and forth. If its Stick, put it in gear and do the same thing with the emergency break slightly on. Then try, these are common things hope they help you.
