Alarm Truck
Tried to jump the battery in a truck, now the car alarm wont go off.?
Ok so I went to crank up a truck I am “trucksitting” for a friend in Iraq. Well it would sound like a machine gun and not turn over. So I tried to jump it… when I hooked the battery up to MY trucks battery and opened the dead trucks alarm started going off, and will not stop!!! What has happened? Why did it start and when I go to get a new battery is this alarm going to keep going? If so, how do I get it to restart. There is this black switch type thing under the steering wheel but its not hooked (from what I can see) to the thick silver cord that the alarm is booked up by… ANY HELP! PLEASE! what happened? what can I do? THANK YOU!
OH YEAH! Also, Before I tried jumping the car it would sound like a machine gun… a fast click, now that I tried jumping it it wont even make a noise when I go to turn it on. it just turns on the the lights and the gages go all the way up and then back down. Lights stay on.
you didnt state the vehicle, but this is an immobilizer unit and will not be disabled unless. there are certain modules that control this and tend to drain the battery. so first part install a new battery and find the horn, disconnect the ground or feed from the horn to shut the truck up, sometimes the master alarm can be reset by starting the vehicle or key in the door cylinder. hope this helps
