Alarm Masters

I want to start remembering my dreams? REM alarm?
I haven’t really remembered any of my dreams for years now. I figured I’d like to get a good look at them for analysis of my latent psychology. Or maybe even to master lucidity. Are there any tricks to remembering them?
I hear that putting an alarm for specific intervals can help. Can someone elaborate on that and what I should set me alarm to?
I used to have horrible dreams and not remember them. I found that when I lay down to go to sleep and say to myself that I will remember my dreams, then I did. It helped me, good luck.
